Chicago, Illinois Truck Accident

Three persons have been confirmed injured in a motor vehicle accident which occurred in Chicago, IL this afternoon.

A two vehicle accident between a truck and a car along Route 55 leading into Chicago sent 3 people to the hospital. The drivers of the vehicle have not been identified. The accident occurred around 3:00 P.M. Friday afternoon.

The initial report indicates the driver of the truck lost control of the vehicle before crashing into a Mitsubishi Lancer. The car immediately spun out of control and hit the median head on. The accident resulted in a back-up on both sides of Route 55 Friday afternoon.

Emergency units responded immediately after the accident occurred. While no one was critically injured 3 people were taken to local hospitals as a precautionary measure.

The police report that there is no evidence that either driver was under the influence of alcohol or drugs. The vehicles were both removed out of the road about an hour after the accident occurred.
