Wisconsin Motorcycle & Tractor Trailer Accident Kills 2
Two people die after a motorcycle and tractor trailer collided in Lincoln County, Wisconsin.
The accident occurred when the rider of the motorcycle collided into the trailer of the semi truck. The accident occurred on Highway 17 in the town of Schley. 19 year old Kayla Shafel was the passenger of the motorcycle was being transported to the University of Wisconsin Hospital in Madison when she was pronounced dead.
22-year-old Andrew Hitt was the driver of the motorcycle and was transported to St Joseph’s Hospital in Marshfiled. Mr. Hilt passed away Wednesday afternoon.
The driver of the tractor trailer was identified as 38-year-old Lee Mattern. Mr. Mattern commented to deputies stating that he stopped at a stop sign when the collision occurred.
Reports indicate that both Schley & Hitt were not wearing a helmet at the time of the accident.

It’s so sad that two young people’s life ended in such a tragic way. I don’t understand why they would both choose not to wear helmets. But then, would that have been enough to protect them hitting a huge tractor trailer. Well, it’s so sad and my thought and prayers are with thier families.
